City of Mississauga

The City of Mississauga, Canada’s sixth largest city by population, plans to introduce a shared dockless micromobility service providing a useful mode of transport for residents, workers and visitors. Momentum collaborated with the City to design an equitable and commercially attractive scheme adapted to its geography and transport network.

Through local data analysis and engagement with City officers, Momentum developed a model to determine optimal locations for service and parking. The site suitability analysis included data on current and future population and employment densities, cycle infrastructure, public transport accessibility, and patterns of trips under 5km.

Key insights from this study, like fleet size, vehicle type and the extent of the service area, will guide the city’s discussions with stakeholders and inform their upcoming public tender for the deployment of electric bikes and scooters in 2024.
