The key principle of a well-designed station is to provide successful multimodal integration – taking into account all multimodal journeys, outside to inside the station, and creating continuity in each passenger’s journey. A key challenge is to encourage a mode shift towards more sustainable transport.

“Momentum works across sectors to support the vision of stations as integrated spaces catering for all users as well as being positive contributions to the urban environment, while generating commercial value for operators.”

Through data analysis and cartography, we understand the different journeys made around train stations and their connections with other transport options.

We also recognize the importance of good signage to facilitate internal and external pedestrian wayfinding at train stations.

Our experience in pedestrian modelling enables us to provide recommendations on the location of signage and the layout of circulation spaces. We work with both private developers, to integrate development proposals with the transport network, and architects, to help create seamless spaces.
