Momentum Transport Canada announces appointment of new team members
Momentum Canada has this week announced the following new team members: Jana Abou Taam as Assistant Consultant, Frédéric Michel as Consultant, Alain-David Jean-Noël as Administrative Coordinator and Théo Manac’h as a Transportation Engineering Intern.
Jana holds a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the Saint Joseph University of Beirut and a Master of Applied Science in Transportation Engineering from Polytechnique Montréal, completed as part of a dual degree programme. Her academic journey sparked a strong interest in multimodal transportation and reducing automobile dependency, which she explored in her master’s thesis by developing a methodology to assess the level of multimodality in Montreal’s transport supply.
Since joining Momentum, Jana has contributed to a range of traffic modelling projects and supported the concept design of roads and multi-use trails. She continues to apply her technical expertise to the development of key projects across Canada and the United States.
Regarding her appointment, Jana stated: “I’m thrilled to be joining Momentum at such a pivotal time for cities and transport. What drew me to Momentum is its commitment to designing transport solutions that are not only technically sound but genuinely considerate of the people they serve. It’s energising to be part of a team that places sustainability, inclusivity, and user experience at the core of its work, and I’m looking forward to contributing to projects that make a tangible difference in how people move and live in cities.”
Frédéric holds a Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning from the Université de Montréal and a Master’s degree in Urban Planning and Development, specializing in Transport and Mobility, from the Université Toulouse Jean Jaurès. After completing an initial internship at Momentum in 2023 and gaining experience at Systra as a Mobility Analyst, Frédéric rejoined Momentum in 2025 as a Consultant.
At Momentum, Frédéric has worked on various projects including urban logistics, pedestrian flow modeling, and traffic impact studies. Looking ahead, he is eager to further contribute to Momentum’s growth, particularly through projects related to urban and recreational cycling plans.
Regarding his appointment, Frédéric said: “What I appreciate most about Momentum is the richness and diversity of the projects, as well as the team’s constant commitment to promoting active mobility. I particularly enjoy highlighting active transportation and getting involved in event-based projects that encourage more sustainable lifestyles. Designing spaces with people in mind is a meaningful mission – one that enhances the positive impact we can have on the city.”
Théo is pursuing his civil engineering studies at Polytechnique Montréal, with a specialization in transportation. Actively involved in student associations as well as the Quebec Transportation Association (AQTr), he is deeply interested in mobility issues and transportation planning.
Théo stated: “What captivates me at Momentum the constant commitment to sustainable values as well as the diversity of the team. Momentum’s mission is to design human-centric spaces that create a meaningful impact on communities, in turn fostering a strong sense of purpose in our work.”
Alain-David earned his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, with a focus on Public Administration and Public Policy, from the Université du Québec à Montréal. He is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Public Administration at ENAP. Throughout his studies, he developed a strong interest in public administration and public services. This passion led him to municipal politics, where he had the opportunity to be involved in the implementation of regulations and resolutions related to sustainable development, ecological transition, and neighborhood revitalization.
Before joining the Momentum team, Alain-David also worked as an advisor within the network of Quebec chambers of commerce and entrepreneurs.
Since joining the team, Alain-David takes pride in his contribution to the efficient administrative functioning that supports the team’s overall performance.
Amélie Cossé, director and co-founder of Momentum Transport Canada, added: “It is a pleasure to see the team expand with new expertise in mobility planning, engineering and administrative support for our growing company. We are proud to continue serving our public and private clients across Canada with this enhanced expertise, and to offer a team that is ever more passionate about sustainable mobility and the place of people in our cities.”
