Introduction
The stadium is a truly integrated site, sitting within the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, surrounded by a wide variety of residential, commercial, educational and leisure land uses. Momentum have been involved in the stadium since 2012 including preparing the Transport Assessment for the transformation planning application, developing transport management plans and regular monitoring of the current operation of the stadium.
The stadium brings together thousands of people from diverse backgrounds, from the local community to international guests, into one multi-faceted space requiring complex analysis and planning. Our suite of operations planning documents, including crowd, traffic and servicing plans, have been designed to enable efficient and effective operations, minimising cost and impact on the wider area. Our crowd modelling work and study of the concessions, lounges and concourses helped to optimise the spectator offer and maximise event-day revenues.
We have undertaken impact assessments, travel demand forecasting as well as developing transport strategies for major events including the Rugby World Cup 2015 and the London 2017 World Championship Athletics.
