The Radisson station is located on the green line of the Montreal metro. The area will undergo several changes over the next few years, particularly with the arrival of new public transit infrastructure. The area will also be subject to densification based on TOD principles. The borough of Mercier-Hochelaga-Maisonneuve therefore commissioned Momentum to conduct a study on the intermodal station’s requirements, which will serve as an input to the redevelopment plan for the area.
The first part of the study consisted of a consultation of stakeholders and a portrait of the current situation and urban issues for the intermodal station. Several analyses were undertaken, including an analysis of the bus services and ridership, the use of park-and-ride facilities, the urban experience, the bicycle access and the pedestrian comfort.
The second part of the study focused on a benchmark of best practices in intermodality and a calculation of the transit needs in terms of operational space for the bus terminal. Concept ideas for the future intermodal station were developed for discussion with the various stakeholders.
